Mariya & Sebastian

Mariya Tabassam Aziz and Sebastian Isa Künne

WEDDING: Pakistani & German  |  LOCATION: Siena, Italy

The story of Mariya & Sebastian is one of long distance love. Having left her home of Pakistan at the age of 17, Mariya pursued her studies in London and dreamed of becoming an investment banker. With hard work and commitment, she pursued her goals and later met Sebastian who was based in Germany.

Over many emails and calls they quickly developed a friendship, which blossomed into long distance love. With an 8-year gap between the two, they each had their own passions and interests. Mariya, a free spirit with a passion for culture and learning, travelled to South America to learn Spanish and salsa dancing. After her departure from Europe, Sebastian soon realized that Mariya was the one and took the trip to propose. This was the beginning of their story of love between two cultures.

Having been inspired by the land of Tuscany, the two decided upon a fusion destination wedding in Siena, Italy. Vendors factored in the couple’s unique upbringing to incorporate details with Pakistani, German, and Italian flair. The nuptials took place in a quiet villa, overlooking the mountains, and set in a historic town hall. The nikkah wedding ceremony was inspired by the bold and jovial tones of a traditional Pakistani wedding, which juxtaposed against the soft and neutral tones of the nature around.

The brides bouquet was made of peonies and roses.
