Zardozi visited Sagar Couture’s headquarters in Mumbai to find out how the artisans create his catwalk worthy designs.

The designs are first sketched on paper and then recreated onto the various fabrics themselves.

The hand embroiderers have passed down the tradition through each generation.

Ten to fifteen people may work on one lengha’s design at a time.

Various threads and beads are layered to complete the floral patterns.

It can take up to half a month to create a bridal lengha.
