Gurpreet Brar & Sabir Ahluwalia
WEDDING: Punjabi, Sikh | LOCATION: Toronto, Canada
Sometimes you just have to have a little faith and that is exactly what Gurpreet & Sabir had when they embarked on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. To their surprise, they had met “the one”. As their love story continued they found themselves discovering new and beautiful characteristics in one another and the way they made each other feel. It wasn’t long after that Sabir took Gurpreet’s hands during a walk through a nearby park and told her that, “to the world you may be one person but to me, you are the world.” Remembering this moment still so vivid in her mind, Gurpreet tells Zardozi “That’s how he made me feel then and everyday since.”
Gurpreet saw the Sabyasachi lehenga while browsing delhi couture week images with her dad, saying, “This is it! He has excellent taste and agreed.”
“We had taken time to learn what the four Sikh vows meant. That really allowed me to concentrate as we made our rounds.”
“My best friend told me not to look around at everyone when I first walked in, but to focus on Sabir. That’s exactly what I did throughout and it helped me stay calm and grounded in the moment.”
